Well Jesus-H-Christo do we have a monster show this week: Eelke Kleijn stops by to talk about his latest remix for Way out West on the killer track “Surrender”, and electronic music *superstar* Charlie May kicks off our Tastemaker segment with a brand spakin new track he’s done with Barry Jamieson – it’s a world premier and you can’t hear any of this anywhere else.

.

This week also features music from Henry Saiz, EDX, Pig & Dan, Spektre and much more.

.

1. Luis Junior – Colache (Film Transition mix) [Bedrock]
Luis Junior up untill now has probably been known best for his Radio work in his home country of Spain, but he’s certainly making waves with this debut on the Bedrock imprint. Getting plenty of play from label-boss John Digweed as well as a version that appears on the the Sultan Nubreed mixed comp out on Global Underground.
.
2. Bertie Blackman – Town of Sorrow (Mic Newmann remix) [EQ Recordings]
Not without coincidence, this is also off the Sultan Nubreed CD – this time it’s two Aussies teaming up for a delicious slice of vocal tech house. Bertie Blackman is a singer/songwriter out of Sydney and she’s joined on the remix by Mic Newman who has done some major work in the past couple years – his remix of Booka Shade is one we remember most. The fallout is a charming early-set groover with a ton of bounce appeal.
.
3. Way out West – Surrender (Eelke Kliejn remix) [Hope Recordings]
It’s no surprise that this track has been getting our good friend Eelke alot of attention recently. It’s one of those remixes that truly expands the original to its full potential. Eelke backs the wonderful vocal with some serious 80’s vibes and spot-on technical production. Huge track that manages to be a musical ode to new wave rock without *sounding* like an homage. Very Fresh.
.
4. Pig & Dan & Hugo Rodriguez – Pugo (Original mix) [Myth Records]
I’m a huge Pig & Dan fan – for the past three years they’ve consistently remained the industry’s go-to remixers for everyone, from prog heads to techno freaks. They’re in top form here pairing with Spain’s Hugo Rodriguez as he launches the brand new label Myth Records. It’s deep. It’s Dark. It’s kick ass.
.
5. Charlie May & Barry Jamieson – Untitled [unsigned]
You can’t hear this track anywhere else because it *literally* just came right out of their studio. This world premier of a track doesn’t even have a name…and it’s HUGE. All on it’s own, it’s making me lose my shit listening to it, and Charlie even goes on to say that it’ll be getting the remix treatment from Sasha himself. Huge debut, awsome pairing. This is as fresh as it gets!
.
6. Spektre – Flux Aeterna [Respekt Recordings]
They’ve just been on the show talking about their new artist album “Casting Shadows Without Light” and they’re back this week with another offering from the same release. This one is darker and more twisted, and we’re absolutely in love. “Flux Aeterna” sounds like vintage progressive house from the late 90’s in the best possible way. Massive track that’s sure to please any crowd or pair of ears.
.
7. Henry Saiz – Hadal [Rennaissance]
The first of a double dose from Mr. Saiz, this is off of his “Madre Noche” EP that was released late last year on Rennaissance – he really shows off his penchant for melody in this one with a driving peak-time bass and percussion line. It’s a track that is musical enough to be *listened* to, not just danced to. Henry Saiz is at the top of his game, and if you need proof of that, look no further than this one.
.
8. Michael Woods – Dropzone (2010 mix) [Diffused Music]
The UK’s Michael Woods has been making waves for the past year or so, and it’s especially apparent on this one that has recieved major support from tour-mate Deadmau5. It makes sense, “Dropzone” plays like an anthem, and who can resist an anthem? We can’t. It’s hot.
.
9. Way out West – Future Perfect (Henry Saiz remix) [Hope Recordings]
Well I believe we promised a double dose today of Henry Saiz, and it just so happens to deliver along with our second dose of the Way Out West boys as well. Huge huge HUGE track here – it’s a peaktime stormer with some incredible bassline work and soaring break-downs. Play this one loud and you’ll get chills, guaranteed.
.
10. Dinka – Elements (EDX 5un5hine remix) [Unreleased Digital]
There is without a doubt ALOT of prog-trance crap out there right now that dominates the charts and airplay – this track is NOT one of them. Listen carefully kids, because EDX puts on a *clinic* in this track on how to produce simple, fat-laden hooks that not only kick like a fucking horse, but also can’t be removed from your brain. Can’t stop listening to this one, bet you can’t either. Oh, and did I mention that the tiny lyrics are irresistible?
.
Whew…I don’t know how we can possibly top this week’s show, but tune in next week as we attempt to do just that. Thanks for tuning in and don’t forget to tell us what you think here, on twitter, or on our facebook page. Play it loud, buy your music, and Keep it Fresh. See you next week!
