The Ho and I had a night at the theater tonight, which sounds like a Marx Brothers movie. Oh, man, did I love the Marx brothers when I was about…13? 14? I remember the first one I ever saw was A Night in Casablanca, which of course was a spoof on Casablanca. That kicked off a couple-year binge where I watched all of their movies I could get my hands on. My favorite of theirs? A Night at the Opera, I think.

Anywho, the Ho and I went into Beverly Hills to see our friends Melody and Amir perform in the Sondheim musical Merrily We Roll Along. Not Sondheim’s most well-known musical, to be sure, and as it turned out for some decent reasons…but none of those reasons had to do with THIS production of it, and most particularly our friends. I realize I’m totally biased, but Melody and Amir were two of the best people in the show. For sure. Hands down. Especially Amir. He killed it.

I worked today. What else is new. Got done what I needed to get done, thank you baby jesus, and got some solid writing in. Not nearly as much writing as I wanted, or enough to make up for the last couple days of no output…but I did get some real work in, and that’s more than I did the last couple days. I *will* get this fuggin rewrite done, so help me. I really will. I’m going to get a bunch done tomorrow, and a bunch done next week. Then, type all that shit in over christmas week…then line edit the week after that, and then type all THAT in right before new years.

That’s the official plan. Wish me luck, yo. I still need dat shit.

I think that’s all I have for you tonight. It’s already past midnight, which is way later than usual. I had a wonderful, wonderful time out tonight with my wifey. I can’t tell you how wonderful it is to be married to someone who’s company I so thoroughly enjoy. It’s magic. I highly recommend it.

Good night!
