The Ho and I watched Get Out tonight. It was really good! I highly recommend it. Not only does it play on some wonderful genre tropes and give them a twist (and some strong racial commentary), it’s a fun horror movie which is really the only thing it ever really needed to be.
I killed it on the word count today – 6,036 words. I could feel it yesterday, even though waking up this morning I doubted myself…I found my resolve and I powered through. The writing today was good. Praise be. It was good. Granted, I was basically writing a scene that I’d already written…but still. It was good. The story moves along now. And, I have a deadline coming up for my cover artist, and that meant going and doing some art research, and man, that never fails to get me going.
I also got all my Netflix work done today, too. It was one of those days. Exhausting…I tried to watch the baseball game tonight since there are only four of them left —now three— but I got so tired I had to lay down and take a nap. Which totally worked. I was able to get the rest of my writing done after waking up, and then spend time with the Ho! Which was when we watched the movie 😛
That’s the news that’s fit to report. It’s time for bed.
Tomorrow…another 6,000 words are calling my name. Wish me luck.
