Man, I didn’t think about it really till just now, but I had a day full of acronyms.

We just got back from seeing one Liz’s castmates in Disjointed at UCB. She’s so freaking funny, and her improv is pretty much the only improv that I’ll go to and KNOW that I’m going to see a good show every time. This was their Assscat show, which is the best of the best, and it was so good. So, yeah. Shoutout to Betsy. She killed it.

Before the show we got drinks with Lizderfer and Nicole at this cute little bar down the street from the theatre called…Know something…Know Bar? Damnit. Something like that 😛 Anywho, we hiked on over the the UCB theater from there, and then after Betsy’s show, we all went and got Thai food together. It was really fun.

Earlier in the day, I watched some football. The Niners, of course, managed to lose a very winnable game. I’ll say this about the 2017 Niners: we have some defense. Absolutely zero offense, but we do have some defense. And getting that D in order was what turned it around for us last time…so there’s hope? Maybe. Maybe not 😛

I also watched the last game of the year for the A’s. We won. We improved quite a bit from last season. I really think we have some big talent on our team, at least offensively. The pitching is very suspect. So, we might be better next year! We’ll see. I zonked out for a good portion of that game, but I do know that Khris Davis hit his 43rd homerun, which is one more than last year and the most he’s ever hit. So that was dope. And we won!

It’s such a funny thing about sports: while the one thing any fan wants to see is for their team to win it all…there is definitely a part of every serious sports fan that is relieved when their team doesn’t make the playoffs. Yes. Relieved. Because the playoffs are fucking STRESSFUL, man. So, so stressful. Every game means so much, and watching your team lost in the playoffs is heartbreaking. Truly.

So, yeah…of course I’m bummed the A’s aren’t in the playoffs for the third consecutive year. That sucks. But, it also makes watching the playoffs way, way more enjoyable. Particularly as an A’s fan who hasn’t seen his team win but one lousy playoff series 11 years ago. I was alive the last time they won it all…but I wasn’t watching at the time.

Some day, guys. Some day.
