After a week off for flu-related activities, we’re back with a raucous show to bang us further into summer with some attitude. The Swedish tech-house prodigy John Dahlback is on the show talking about his new label and 2xCD “Mutants” which is a must-have for the summer.

Also featuring music from Faithless, Dr. K & Nii vs. Shiha, Misstress Barbara, Monaque, Sharam and much much more. Buckle up!

1. Misstress Barbara – Ouias [Iturnem]
Well the Montreal native made a big splash a couple years ago with back to back EP’s on Border Community and Bedrock and she’s been hanging around ever since. This track is off her first artist album “I’m No Human” on her own Iturnem imprint – 2010 seems to be the year of the artist album and this one ranks right up at the top. She really showcases some of that songwriting ability on this track.

2. Lank – Run on Fumes (Monaque Remix) [microCastle]
Our good friends over at microCastle have really hand-picked one here. Peter Golyan is the Hungarian mastermind behind “Lank”, and with the help of the seriously up-and-coming duo Monaque, also friskyNatvies, a delicious slice of warm fat progressive house has been served up, a la the likes of Guy J and Henry Saiz. Superb release also includes music from 16Bit Lolitas.

3. Worakls – Distortion [Reshape]
Some tough tech-houseness from this French Duo. It’s out on the Italian label Reshape and takes a rather pedestrian vocal and backs it with some fantastic synth atmospheres and rolling percussion. It’s a very straight-forward track, and very satisfying because of it.

4. Sharam feat. Anousheh Khalili – Don’t say a word (Sharam’s Own remix) [Subliminal Records]
He’s the other Deep Dish that so often gets overshadowed by his other half Dubfire, but over the past year or so, Sharam has deffinitely been proving the haters wrong. He pairs up here with the *fantastic* vocalist Anousheh Khalili for “Don’t Say a Word” which is being featured on Subliminal’s 2010 version of the Voodoo Nights compilation. We love how naked the track sounds – some seriously awsome editing choices on this one. Producers take note – less is more. Plenty else to love on this release, but we think this one is the best.

5. John Dahlback – Autumn [Mutants]
It’s a brand new project for the Swedish rock star John Dahlback, but as he says, Mutants will be all his own. This artist release and mixed CD plays virtually like a greatest hits, which is kind of amazing since he’s only 25 and already has 9 years of production legacy under his belt. I try not to say it very often, but “Mutants” is a must-have this year from a must-have producer.

6. Gabe & Christian Smith – Fidelidade [Toolroom Records]
As the compilation parade rolls on for the summer, we’re featuring another track here from Christian Smith who makes two appearances in two weeks. Again, he’s on top form here with the Ecuadorian producer Gabe on the original Fidelidade. In this case it’s appearing on Chris Lake and Tocadisco’s Toolroom Knights installment. It screams Ibizia staple. Welcome to the summer ladies and gents.

7. Sander van Doorn – Reach Out [Doorn Records]
Mmmmmm, yeah. Sander van Doorn defies expectations every so often when he turns out progressive-minded madness like this one, and I’m always a huge fan. The hardcore trance producer certainly doesn’t have to cross over, but he’s been doing it with genius results ever since “Grasshopper” back in 2007, which I still play by the way. Enough said, “Reach Out” will be a summer anthem this year. Mark my words.

8. Glenn Morrison feat. Cathy Burton – Symptoms of a Stranger (Henry Saiz remix) [Morrison Recordings]
Glenn Morrison, the man from Toronto, is always good for solid musical work. Pair that with Fresh Produce staple Henry Saiz and how can you miss. You can’t and they don’t. Out on his own Morrison recordings, vocalist Cathy Burton provides the features while Saiz paints the landscape. It’s a cavernous track.

9. Faithless – Not Going Home (Armin van Buuren remix) [Ultra]
To celebrate the US release of the album and single, finally, here is Armin’s remix of “Not Going Home”. The album is called “The Dance”. I’d say that Faithless is returning to form, but they never really fell from it, did they? “Not going Home” is vintage “Insomnia”-type single-writing and Armin does a suprisingly trance-but-not-trance remix of it. And if you like this, you’ll flip your shit for the Eric Prydz remix we played several weeks back.

10. Ninesh Babu – Meteor Showers (Dr. K & Nii vs. Shiha remix) [friskyRecords]
Laides and gentlemen, meet Ninesh Babu, the Dubai native who shows some technique not commonly found with a newbie. He’s backed here by the up-and-coming trio of Egyptian producers Dr. K & Nii vs. Shiha for a full-on trance bomb with flair. Love the added elements in the chorus, love the slick production. Should be making waves in the trance world.
