Holy shyte balls what a show today – none less than THREE of the hottest producers on the planet right now have dropped in for interviews. Michael Woods might be the most in-demand producer in the progressive scene right now and he’s talking about one of his favorite productions, Martin Roth talks new directions, and King Unique closes the show with a monster smash track.

1. Matt Norstrom & Orlando Villegas – Spanglish (Len Faki edit) [Saved Records]

The first of Martin Roth’s picks today, this one comes from Nic Fanciulli’s Saved Records with a wickedly tribal-tech remix from Berlin’s Len Faki. It’s hot, sweaty, and twisted. Top notch pick from our first guest of the day, thumbs way up from us.

2. Gary Beck – Say What [Saved Records]

Gary Beck is no stranger to Fresh Produce, big fans here of his very spacey brand of techno – Martin showcases this pounder also from Fanciulli’s imprint. It’s got a bit more bouncy attitude than some of Beck’s other outings, but the driving bassline and reverb’d whitenoise are still there.

3. Michael Woods – Envolver [Diffused Music]

Mr. Woods admits on the show today that this track is one of his favorites, never fails to blow up the dancefloor he’s playing it for – not without coincidence too that it’s on his own Diffused Music label. It’s got plenty to make you wave your hands at and our vote for one of those tracks that may have been underrated a few months back when it first was released.

4. Samuel L. Session – Inner City Dust (Part 2) [Figure]

The Swedes continue to dominate the show lately – Samuel L. Session here has been a techno fixture for the more sophisticated of tastes – he’s always got a concept behind his music. This cut here is off a four-part EP of the same track, we thought part 2 was the best. It’s hypnotic, driving, and superbly crafted. One of the most exquisite pieces of cerebral techno I’ve heard in a long time. Huge Ups on this one.

5. Luis Junior – BG [Bedrock]

He’s a rockstar in the making – Bedrock’s newest up-and-comer has already appeared on the show for “Colache”. This song is more keen on drive than etheral and there’s some fantastic work with distortion on the main synth part. An exciting release, and that’s two in a row now…it’s making our ears stand up and listen more closely.

6. Strobe – Wanna Hold You (Jerome Ismae-ae remix) [Electric]

He’s a regular guest star, so we won’t focus on the remix master Jerome Isma-ae. Strobe is actually the moniker for our good friend Henry Cullen whom we know from his Mutate to Survive label – he’s got a melodic gem here the walks that line between sophistication and cheese. Best track from both of them we’ve heard this year.

7. Dinka – Civilization [Anjunadeep]

The melodic prog master from Switzerland, he’s part of the EDX/Daniel Portman/Helvetic Nerds crew, and he’s showing off his own style on this one. The pads are so fluffy in this piece you could lay down in them, pair that with some chunky snickering bassline and kicks, and you have something makes me pay attention.  Nice work for the people like their prog mixed with trance like we do.

8. Quivver – Surin (Lutzenkirchen remix) [Remedy Records]

Couldn’t resist on this one, it’s a classic for me – Lutzenkirchen has a new album out right now on Remedy Records called “Profile” and it’s an assortment of his best and biggest tracks from recent years. “Surin” was massive when it first dropped two years ago, and this remix was my favorite. Still sounds as fresh and when it first came out, which is even more impressive.

9. Hybrid – Can You Hear Me (Barry Jamieson remix) [D’stinctive Records]

Truly one of the most enigmatic tracks to work with, we’ve been searching for the perfect way to slide this track in for a couple weeks now. The effort with the oddly-timed percussion is worth every second of effort, and the track is truly something unique. Fantastically out-of-the-box thinking from Barry Jamieson, another from the Sasha production team who is striking out on his own of late. Keep a close eye on this one.

10. Triangle – Five (King Unique remix) [Flow Vinyl]

King Unique came on the show today at the last second because I heard this track and *had* to get it into the show. Superb superb Killers-like vocal from Mark Riddell (hoping that’s spelled right) – it’s juxtaposed with a supporting cast of prototypical King Unique wailing synths and smooth percussion and the result is bliss in a truly epic pop-rock Underworld fashion.  Amazing track.
