The march to the holiday season continues here on Fresh Produce as the northern half of the world braces for the cold weather and the southern half puts on bikinis and sunscreen. Our good friend Federico Epis is from down there, and he has a storming new track to play for us in another Fresh Produce world exclusive, so stay tuned for that. Also featuring some hand-picked unreleased music as well from the boys at friskyRecords.

1. Wael B – Riots [friskyRecords]
As promised, upfront material, and it’s kicking off the show. Wael Berraies is a relative unknown out of Tunisia who first came to the attention of friskyRecords through an unsolicited submission. This was the track, and it was a no-brainer, as it is for this show. Wonderful easy drive topped with some deliciously interwoven melody patterns and vocal cuts, it shows a maturity that’s rare in an up-and-comer. We’ve certainly taken notice. It’s being featured on friskyRecord’s forthcoming “Year003” compilation.

2. Avis Vox – Doors Opened Inside (Spartaque Dub mix) [Moonbeam Digital]
The number of proficient female producers out there is not high enough, unfortunately, but there are some major ones. Avis Vox I don’t know well enough yet to put her in that class, but she’s certainly got my attention with this one. Delightful stuff here that’s grinded into a throbbing paste by one of our favorites Spartaque. Right up my alley with the edge, moodiness and pretty melodies. Certainly someone we’ll be looking for more from.

Carrie Golden returns to the program after her huge hit “Daniel”, and although this may not be the barn-storming progressive-pop style that’s takes a shot at the chart top, it is a dirty little number destined for every set in the techno underground. It certainly helps too when you’re paired with Pan-Pot who might be the unsung champion of techno – he has, at the very least, the midas touch. Wonderfully understated track.

Andrea Roma is yet another of those names that may not be a household one yet, but he’s certainly appearing in all the right places to get there. He’s redoing Christian Fischer’s “1986”, one of the breakout singles from his “Change Disko” artist album featured on a brand new remix EP. What really has Roma’s mix standing out his is 1-2 bassline that glides more than it tumbles – really gives the track a bobbing feel that is downright infectious. Plenty more to listen to off this remix album, we definitely recommend.

Sticking with the theme of artist albums, which has really been a theme all year right? This next track is most recently appearing on KNM Special Marketing’s second “Berlin Underground” series, but it’s originally off Joseph Capriati’s “Save my Soul” artist album on Analyticrail a few months back. In both cases, it’s wicked. The over-distorted kick is downright sacrilegious, but such is the aesthetic of Joseph Capriati. We’re picking up what’s he putting down, make no mistake about that.

The second of our upfronts today comes again from the Tunisian producer and likewise to be featured in the upcoming “Year003” compilation from friskyRecords. This time Wael B is taking the remix turn on what was once a very deep, very musical piece from Dubai-native Dimitry Liss. It’s refashioned and given some techno teeth here, with some wonderful construction in the breakdown sections. Really top notch work from a producer to watch for.

Seriously cannot get enough from this guy, and we’re obviously not the only ones. Da Fresh’s chart presence has been as consistent as the turnover inherent in this industry. He’s really kind of outdone himself on this one – great source material from Lucca, speaking of female producers, in a great lead really pushed into big room territory by some fantastic basswork and super crunchy drums. I’d suggest partnering with this guy as much as possible producers out there. He’s on fire.

Remember this track? Mr. Seaman was on himself just about a month ago talking about the original, which we love. But when it’s all said an done, *this* is the track to really set your sights on. The British duo that is Egostereo have hands down made it a year to remember with some genuinely huge tunes. This is certainly one of them, just listen to the drop after the middle breakdown…massive.

It’s not often that we featured unsigned music, or even upfront music. This one just happens to be both and it’s from a good friend of ours and the friskyFamily. Federico Epis hails from Uruguay and has been hailed by many as the next progressive king of South Amierca. He’s certainly holding court with this bootleg remix of Apparat’s newest single “Circles” which has also been featured right on this very show. Killer killer bassline and some wonderful additions and subtractions to the original have made this booty mix a favorite of Hernan Cattaneo, Dave Seaman and more.

We’re suckers for pretty things, and this next track is irresistable in the regard, not to mention exceptionally produced. Lush pads, filtered-out vocals hiding just in the background, a Ticon-esque bassline, and just plain nice songwriting. It’s a track that straddles the worlds of more prog-house minded genre containers and all out trance. It’s getting the full EP release treatment from AnjunaBeats, which is a decent statement from a label so compilation-happy. The pairing between Hanson and Parker seems to be pretty consistent, it’s certainly one to keep your ears tuned for.
