Went to another industry thing tonight with the Ho by the WGA, and this time it was Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, the two go-to JJ Abrams scribes who have massively blown up in “recent” years; ie- Star Trek, Transformers, Fringe, etc etc etc. It was also moderated by Chris Broncato who is one of the Executive Producers of “Hannibal” which is just about the coolest “new” show on television. It was, essentially the perfect panel for yours truly.

And man! Both Liz and I took paaaages of notes. It was a goldmine, just like the last one was, and it was really really informative and inspiring, even.

I can’t help but feel that way listening to professionals talk about doing what they do for a living. How fortunate they sound and happy to be where they are. It’s where I want to be. And they talk about how they got there, which, is very informative.

Writing this entry in a different way tonight. The Ho is typing this out as I speak, with no attached keyboard (it’s charging in the office). I’m watching her fingers flurry about right now. She’s so much faster at this than I (Note from Liz: I’m just faster at keyboard typing bc i have had lots of practice on my first gen iPad).

We were talking about how much fun these couple writing excursions have been. That it’s something that *we* get to do as a couple. And that it is just so nice to listen to people talk about story and storytelling the way we find ourselves doing all the time. It’s nice that it is our thing that we get to do together. It’s totally different too, being with a group of writers rather than being with a group of writers. In some ways, it feels as though the volume is turned down. But really, tonight, we found ourselves thinking it more had to do with how writers tell stories as opposed to how actors tell stories. It just feels different. It’s stimulating.

I think that is all for tonight. The Liz fingers have done well. They are to be commended.
