Today was Seth’s birthday.
I know what you’re thinking. Didn’t we *just* do a birthday yesterday for your brother? The answer is yes, we did. This is a different brother. Scott’s is on the 28th of December, Seth’s is on the 29th. I must admit, I do feel for them. Not only are they brothers destined to basically share a birthday for all of eternity, they’re also only three days removed from Christmas. That’s a double whammy, all the way, across the sky.
At this point, I should share that the Ho has taken on a new hobby during this stay up in the north; making quick montages of our days on her iPhone and posting them on Instagram. They’re freaking awesome. For reals. Not just saying that because she’s my fiance. In fact, you can judge for yourself:
After the family photo shoot that you see set to music above, we trekked back down south to the Eel River brewery, which conveniently had the Niners game on. Liz and I did the beer flight which was tons of fun, even if half of them kind of tasted like cough syrup. Some of them were excellent, however. We got waaaayyy too much food, as per usual, and then we drove home and tried to listen to the rest of the Niners game on the radio, but the reception was so bad we couldn’t hear them kick the game winning field goal with 0:02 left. Doesn’t matter, they won 😛
We walked the Coops, who’d been so good being home alone all day, then we went to go grab Seth a birthday cake. Seth’s friend Chad came over and celebrated with us, and after we’d caked out, we followed Seth back to his place in Fortuna. Scott and Addie had bought him a new board game, and we’d wanted to sit down and play it for the first time, but the rules and directions on how to play ended up being so confusing and complicated that we spent an hour and a half trying to figure out what the hell we were supposed to do, and only a half hour actually playing. But, that’s a small price to pay for my brother having an “amazing birthday.” His words 🙂
Now, I’m sitting in bed freaking exhausted yet again. My poor parents, something is wrong with their electricity, and the voltage is varying so widely right now, the lights are flickering literally every 60 seconds or so. Also, frustratingly, the spacebar on my iPad keyboard isn’s very responsive, and it’s getting worse. I only use this thing for writing really, meaning my iPad…I need a keyboard for it that I can actually use to write a lot. Having doubts as to whether this one will last…
But, that’s a thought for another blog. Right now, Cooper at my feet has the right idea. It’s sleeping time.
