I’m a little late to the party, and I have seen a couple of the “episodes” already…but guys! Sherlock is so fucking good. I just watched the pilot today, if you can really call it that, which you can’t, but anyway; crackling script, and even better performances. Each aspect of the update was brilliantly thought out. The only thing was that I figured things out a bit earlier than I was supposed to, but that’s okay. Bound to happen now and again in any mystery show.
That’s really all I have for today. Still sick. Still slogging through it and trying to get work done. At least I’m becoming more successful at getting the work done. Solid day of work today that I’m happy with. The full 240 minutes is not going to happen, I’m afraid, but I will get close to it. I’m also realizing that writing will also not happen for the next week, even if I do start to feel better. There just aren’t enough days. Le sigh.
February, then, is the month of making sure the writing happens. If that’s what it has to be, then that’s what it has to be. This new TV show idea is starting to coalesce, indeed. Watching Sherlock tonight helped some of it along, in fact. Yes, guys, I steal from shows I love. I’ll say it outright and blatantly. It’s also called inspiration. There are no new story ideas. The trick, however, is turning old ideas into new ones.
This whole past week and a half have been very draining. I’m exhausted, to be honest. Very much looking forward to feeling better. And if there isn’t significant progress by Monday morning, I’m going to go see my doctor. That’s that. It will have been almost two weeks by that point. See if I can get something to kill whatever’s growing in my chest, and something to keep the allergies at bay, which I’m *pretty* sure are what caused this whole thing in the first place. It’s still entirely possible it was a cold virus, I just don’t think that’s the case because I never had a fever.
I’ll see you guys tomorrow, as we enter into the last week of January…already. 2014 needs to slow the eff down, right?
