Happy Valentine’s Day everybody!
Or, as the Ho and I took to today, Happy Venereal Disease. You know, V-day…VD…our twisted minds run wild. That’s how we roll.
Totally a scattered day today, which puts me behind on the editing work. I know I keep harping that, but it’s a bummer to be behind, because that means the days I have set to do other things, like write, or recharge the batteries, get lost in half-working to catch up.
But, enough about all that.
Liz and I went out to Wood & Vine in Hollywood. It’s so sketchy over there, by the way. You all know it. But, miraculously, money still continues to flow into the area and nice restaurants keep popping up. Like this one. It was a prefixe menu, and it was all pretty freaking delicious. They had awesome cocktails too. Liz won that round with hers, called a Zocalo, which was essentially tequila and habanero with a little lime. Holy bejesus it was SPICY, and it was delicious.
Then, somehow, going to the driving range popped into her head, and we took a quick round of hitting some golf balls to cap off the night. She’s never been to do it before, so that was totally awesome. She’s a natural, of course. God help me if she ever decided to actually try at golf, because she’d probably start beating my scores within a month or two. And my ego is such a delicate flower, see.
Coops was all wiggles and smiles when we got home, and then we settled down and watched more of “Rake.” That show has a lot going for it, really. The acting is better than most, and often times the writing is quite good. Very likable characters, etc. It still definitely feels, though, like it’s trying to find its identity. We’re not really sure how seriously or light-heartedly we’re to take much of what’s happening to ol’ Keegan. That’s something I’m sure they’ll learn with time, and I do hope they get it. Greg Kinnear really is a fantastic actor and I’d love to see him on TV for a long time.
Tomorrow means getting work done, on both the writing and the editing front. Writing’s going to have to come first, but both need to be done. And, I can do it. Then, for the nighttime, it’s square dancing which should be a lot of fun. And challenging, because often times I have two left feet when it comes to anything requiring me to move several parts of my body at the same time to music. At least with choreographed moves.
Till tomorrow you young squires! Or squirrels…which is what I thought I typed for a couple hot seconds.
