Man, you and me both Mr. iPad.
I was supposed to plug in my iPad to charge today, but I forgot. Whoops. Came back to write this entry tonight, and it was on 2%. That’s not enough to write a blog on 😛
So, I watched some big cat videos on my phone for a couple minutes with it plugged in, and now we’re ready to rock. Ah, those big cats. Pretty much just like small cats. They like boxes. They do weird things. Oh, and a bear saved a crow that fell into the pool of water in its cage. Nice guy, right?
Writing was great today. I’m at a really fun section of the story. They’re coming up on a really cool location, and there are some fun characters we’re about to meet, and the “bad guy” is about to show up and get close to catching them for the first time. Fun stuff 🙂
Work, on the other hand, hit a wall tonight. I just couldn’t work any more. I was out. Too tired. Couldn’t focus. So, I stopped, watched some Voyager and ate some dinner. I also restructured my work schedule so that I’m only ever doing four days in a row, then I get a day off, then four more days, and then I get TWO days off. We’ll see how that goes. It’s all pretty exhausting 😛
Walked the dogs today in the morning and the evening, which was nice. It makes such a difference when I get to go outside the apartment during the work day. Makes me feel like I have a real life, and there is a world out there beyond the office 😛
On the other hand, I have to say that work is still going well. I’m still totally within the capability of finishing with all the work done that I want to get done. And, the lessons lately have been super fun to do, actually. The work fails have much less to do with the actual *work* itself, and much more to do with the distractions of other duties. Tomorrow is going to be a full, uninterrupted work day. It’s going to be glorious.
I’ve also been looking at these Diamond Select Toys trek ships that have come out recently, and I really have to say that I’m very, very close to buying several of them. Especially because I found them on Amazon selling at a much more reasonable retail price than they can be found on the direct manufacturer website. Read: $40 instead of $60. They have two versions of the Enterprise-B that look amazing, a regular and a nexus-damaged version, an Excelsior from ST:III, and a HMS Bounty from ST:IV with the landing gear down. I mean, how freaking cool is that??? The Bounty is the name of the Klingon bird of prey that the’ve commandeered, if you don’t remember. The ship they take back in time to save the whales. That one. I have one of the toys by Diamond Select, it’s the Enterprise-D with the separating saucer section…that we have signed by the whole cast of TNG. It’s such a well-made toy. Seriously. Far, far superior to anything that was ever made when I was a kid and Playmates was putting these toys out. Some of those toys are worth so much freaking money these days…
Anyway…I want them. All four of them. But, I’m afraid it’s overkill. I just love those ships so much…the ignite my imagination. They always have.
That’s all for tonight. Here’s to a more focused day tomorrow, and more productive. PEACE.
