Tonight’s awesomely ominous planet-rise (or set) is by Don Dixon.
Oh, Santa Ana winds, how I despise thee. Allergies were so bad today that my eyes actually were red and irritated all day. I mean, that’s like some gas attack level bullshit right there. It was a good thing it was a scheduled day off 😛
But, I took the meds, and generally took it easy. That was planned before the allergies attack of the end times. I watched an old movie The Battle of Britain today. It was made in the 60s, and was about the RAF and the bombing of London. It was very entertaining, although not quite as good as I was expecting, actually. There was everybody in it, like Laurence Olivier, Christopher Plummer, Michael Cain, that guy who plays Doyle Lonnegan in The Sting…there were more, I just can’t think of them right now. Apparently the air combat scenes they shot for this movie were so revolutionary and impressive, they were used for almost 30 years in other films, or directly influenced other cinematographers.
Other than that, not much of anything was done. I did take my records out of the den closet, took a little stroll down memory lane looking at them. I think I want to divide them into two piles, one of my favorites, and the rest I can maybe lock up down stairs in the storage room. The storage room…there’s an organizing project waiting for me. I need to set aside time to do that here in the next few weeks. Too much stuff down there, and too unorganized.
In other news, the Coops and the Coco are the best dogs in the world. Just too snuggly and sweet. It’s not fair, you know? It’s a lot of love to keep up with. But, we manage, the Ho and I.
That’s all for tonight. I feel a bit beat down by the allergy-ness of doom. Tomorrow, more of a structured day, and a little bit of catch-up to do on the writing work front. Some reading. I wanted to do more of that today, I really did, but my eyes were really not helping.
That’s the news that’s fit to report!
