Legitimately had a wonderful Valentine’s Day today. Most specifically tonight. The Ho and I went to a new place (for us) down the street at Tipple & Vine, which was this very hipster-y bare wood bar ‘n restaurant. They seemed to specialize in Whisky (of all kinds), and tonight they were doing a prefixe menu. The food was passable, and I don’t mean that in any sort of negative way per se. It was good. It didn’t blow us away, but there was nothing to complain about. We also had several drinks apiece, which was totally okay because we’d WALKED there from our house. Yup. Genius.

We stopped by Ralph’s on the way home and picked up smoked salmon for the bear (for the morning) and some more lemon Noosa because that shit is crack and we can never find it. Then, we spent some time at home hanging out with the pups, getting some “I’m in love with da coco” “baking soda” footage for the Instagrams and then watching videos from our Christmas trip that Liz still hadn’t deleted off the memory card.

It started out a bit rough, though, today did. I got some not wholly unexpected but still frustrating news on the professional front, and then some crossed wires on the personal side of things after that. In the end, legitimately not anything crazy that will even carry over past today in my own mind, but still a bit of a wrench as far as the day went. But, you know, everything is much easier to deal with when you have someone in your life that you can talk things out with, which I do in my wifey, da Ho. And, I am very grateful to have that. One might say it’s why we married each other…and then that’s what Valentine’s Day is actually all about, ya? Love? Understanding? Companionship?

I also got a smidge of editing work done, too, this morning when Liz was out hanging with a mutual friend, so that was great too. I’m legitimately thinking of taking Monday off in addition to Sunday, and working Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday next week. I’m not sure tomorrow is going to cut it recuperation-wise. We’ll see.

That was pretty much my day. I walked the dogs. Oh! Cooper went and got a haircut this morning, so he’s extra cotton-ball soft. He’s also always so sweet when he comes home from the groomers. Just very submissive and cuddly. Coco also got her eye hairs trimmed (she won’t let us do them, but Liz said she let Alanna do them in like 3 seconds), so her eyes are now popping like two onyx gemstones. She’s so freaking cute.

Tomorrow is an off day, with the exception of some agility classes, but we get to do them together, the Ho and I, so they’ll be extra fun. And, Coco is first, and she’s so fun to go with because everything is new for her. Coops is fun, too, don’t get me wrong, and for a very different reason in that he’s such a fucking boss at agility now. Coco is just…new, which reminds me of when Coops was so new at it all, too. It’s fun.

Good night y’all. I hope you had a wonderful Valentine’s Day.
