Today was a fail. All around, big time fat fail.
It was hijacked from the moment I woke up by apartment building stuff. I’m not going to go into specifics beyond that I ended up babysitting our dear plumber (working on a Saturday) for a lot longer than I’d anticipated. We fixed the issue, or thought we had, only to see it almost catching fire and needing to do the whole job over again.
And THEN…the garage gate broke. Again. Third time in the past, oh, six months or so. It’s always a big hassel whenever that happens, lots of phone calls, talking to tenants, texting…
When it was all said and done, it was 4pm, I hadn’t even really eaten breakfast yet, and absolutely no work had happened. Zilch. So, I ate some food, I took a nap because I was freaking pooped, and bam…it was time to take the dogs out for a walk. I decided to write when I got home instead of squeezing out a couple hours of editing work, and I guess I’m glad I did. Kept that streak alive, at least. I got a whole scene written from beginning to end, with revisions on the fly from the outlining I’d done.
Liz would like me to mention that we’ve had this box over by the front door, and Coco has been absolute bananas over it. She wants to be in it, like, all the time. In fact, after I’d leashed her up today, she jumped into the box waiting for me to open the door, and almost laid down instead of hopping out to go on the walk. Silly monkey. It’s so freaking cute. It makes me wonder, actually, if she used to live in a box. Maybe that’s where she would welp her puppies. Who knows? She just loves boxes.
Well, I’ve just written off today’s work day from my monthly goal. There wasn’t anything I could do about it. I might have been able to squeeze out a half day if I was really on point and motivated, but I was feeling tired as it was. So, tomorrow is normal as far as an off-day is concerned, and then I go back into full swing for two days before having two more days off.
That’s it. The news that’s fit to report. See you tomorrow! Oh! And, the A’s won a game, finally! Huzzah!
