Two blog entries in a row where the title has come from a random conversation with Kerry. I call that a win.

Today was a win. I took another of my patented massive off-day naps. It was two hours, this one, and I had dreams. Can’t remember right now at all what those dreams were, but I did have them.

Then, Kerry and I ended up watching Mulholland Drive together since we saw it on HBO Go, and I was all like “hey! I totally figured out the plot to that movie, you wanna hear it?”, and then she was like “yeah, I wanna hear it. That movie is cray cray.” And then I told her, and she was like “well, now we need to watch that movie” and so we did. Thusly, Abba-zaba tits was born into the vernacular, and the world rejoiced. It was our approximation of what Naomi Watts says so quietly we couldn’t hear her as she’s cupping her girlfriend’s titties. So Lynch!

I also spent time with Josh today working with him on getting his system set up to edit his feature film. He’s working with 4k footage, which obviously comes with its own unique challenges, but we were able to figure it out one thunderbolt drive and $200 later.

Felt bad for him, sucks to have to throw down cash like that just to have the stuff you need to put an edit together, but that’s the way it goes. Making movies seriously takes so many people and so many resources and equipment…it’s gotta be the single most inefficient and expensive way to tell a story…but damn if it isn’t a thing of beauty when it all comes together.

Walked the dogs in the am and the pm, and got to watch most of the A’s game against the Blue Jays…which they lost. Got swept. I’ve been kinda rooting for the Blue Jays since we threw in the towel on our team, but no way did I want to see the green and gold swept in a series. Sonny was supposed to pitch today, but he had back spasms. He’s really the only thing left to root for on this team. He’s the leading candidate for the Cy Young award in the AL right now…that would be dope. We haven’t had a CY since…2002, I think? When Barry Zito won. Or did he win in 2003…? One of the those years he won it, and that was either 12 or 13 years ago.

Anywho, time for sleeps. Work tomorrow, and then the next day…then one day off, and FOUR days straight to close out what has been an absolutely CRAZY four months of working. The most intense I’ve ever done before. But it’s put more money in the bank that I’ve ever had, and the same for the Ho, so that’s definitely something. We have some security from the fact that I’ve worked so hard this summer and she’s worked so hard this summer…it’s “paying off” as they say. We’ll have a cushion for leaner times or unforseen circumstances, and we’ll also get to treat ourselves to some travel next year.

Looking forward to it! This is how life is *supposed* to work, after all…work hard, and then be rewarded. Doesn’t always happen that way, guys, so I’m gonna enjoy that shit when it does.

Night!
