Tonight’s artwork is what I can only assume to be a futuristic sushi bar from Syd Mead.
We had quite the group over today for game day. Arg and Kristen, Kerry of course since she’s staying with us, and Tiffany and Damien from down in San Diego. They drove all the way up just for game day, it was *awesome*. We had a great time.
We debuted a game from the guy behind The Oatmeal called “Exploding Kittens,” which is like a card version of Russian roulette. It was suuuuper fun. Loved it.
Insert non-sequitor puppy break here: Coops is currently down by my feet having a little puppy dream. Oh, he just woke up and sighed and turned over onto his side. I’ll keep you updated as the situation develops.
Back to game day: we then played Tarot, which Damien had brought his own well-worn well-used deck and *I* had never played before. It was a lot of fun. I’d definitely want to to play a few more times to pick up all the strategy, because we only did two rounds, and each round is pretty short.
We ended the day playing Cards Against Humanity, of course, our go-to game.
And now it’s time for bed. The Coco has also flopped on the bed with he legs up against my legs as she is wont to do. I had a fantasy on the nighttime walk about taking the entire month of January off to write a novel…I might try to make that a reality. We’ll see 😛
I’m going to bed on time tonight because it’s four straight days of wall-to-wall work before we leave to Portland for J’s graduation. Wish me luck!
Oh! And we watched Lucy, Luc Besson’s much-anticipated return to the silver screen as writer and director…and it was a shit show. Made no sense. Was only 80 minutes long. Very disappointed. Mildly entertained, yes, but very disappointed. The guy who made The Professional could make a clusterfuck like that? It’s a crazy mad mad world, yo.
