Work day, accomplished. I’m feelin better too. I didn’t mean to leave the “g” off that “feelin,” but I did, and now we’re talkin cowboy for the rest of the night.
Full work day, finished on time, got my writing done…it was solid. Tomorrow, I know exactly what I’m doing to writing again, too. At least half of my first act for my pilot. Then the next half the next day. I’m going to do it a little differently this time…I’m going to write each act as its own Final Draft document, use that to get it down to the right number of pages, and THEN integrate each of them. Make sure each one has a nice opening, middle, and break. I have high hopes, I think it will work well.
I also really dig this outlining method I use now before going into the screenplay program, where I use a word document to write out each line of dialogue with the main actions of each scene…line by line. No summaries, the actual scene laid out without any of the formatting to clutter it up. Makes it much easier for me to rework and tighten for some reason. I think it’s the simplicity. I can see where scenes are running long and need to be cut, or where some things aren’t being explained enough. It’s makes me feel infinitely better going into Final Draft to then finally write the full scene in all its glory. The picture is so much clearer.
I hope this next draft works like I think it will. It’ll have come a long, long way…about a year’s worth of work 😛 I wrote a novel in there, too. I want to spend some time tomorrow mapping out some rough goals as well, I think. I’m trying to work myself to two hours of writing a day…I only did an hour today, but hey, that was an hour I hadn’t been doing earlier this week. If I can actually do a single hour every day, I’d be in incredible shape productivity-wise. That’s the truth. One single hour a day EVERY day, and one can get a SHIT TON of stuff written. A shit ton.
That’s all the energy I have tonight. Catch you kids after another work day tomorrow. More Enterprise. I’m on episode 21 of season 1…not a fan of the show. Hopefully it gets better in Season 2. I honestly can’t remember.
