Actually, today was a very solid work day 😛
I was afraid it wouldn’t be given I woke up with the great allergy attack of 2016. They are out of control right now. Or, they were today, anyway. Right now, this very moment, they’re not as bad as they were last night. Both the Ho and I were afraid that maybe we were getting sick…but no, it was definitely allergies. This shift in the weather, where the wind is coming from, is KILLER.
Yeah, solid work day today. Also got more feedback on the Sundance docs I sent out, which was awesome.
I have to confess that my heart always quickens when I see an email from someone with notes on something I wrote. I wish that wasn’t the case, but it is. Because, see, I *am* actually getting used to notes. Starting to, anyway. The notes stage is a good stage to be in! In means that real work is getting done. It’s the second phase of writing, and I’ve spent too long avoiding it. The first phase is pure creation, which is definitely my favorite. Most of the time. The second phase is making it WORK. Fixing the problems and making the good parts even better. I’m slowly, ever so slowly, starting to get better at that second part.
That’s all I got tonight, except to tell the story of how I burned the Ho’s scalp just a few minutes ago with (apparently) freezing cold water. She’d done this hair treatment stuff, and enlisted my help to wash it out…but it needs to be done in cold water. So, I turned on the COLD water…which apparently was painfully frigid. I do believe an actual quote was “oh god, it burns.” We had a nice giggle about it…after I turned up the temp a bit…
More work tomorrow. It’s going to be a work, work, work week. Fo sho.
