This week has definitely taken its toll on me 😛

Lots of editing work…I even hit a couple hours overtime, actually…major deadline for the writing-times…starting a new podcast with the Joshy Poo…Valentine’s Day tomorrow…it’s been a busy week. Not to mention these !$#!@!ing allergies this week.

Not to complain…no, I rather am quite pleased with myself. I wish I’d been able to tackle a bit more editing, and I’m slightly behind on the Icarus work…but still. Some major milestones y’all. Finally starting a year off with a bang, really.

I keep finding myself gazing longingly at my writing chair, wishing I was writing my next novel…but I know most of that is really just wanting to avoid the hard work that rewrites really are. I know that now. Still have to brainstorm and figure out how I can make that process more enjoyable. Some sort of reward system…or better yet, something I get to do WHILE I’m rewriting…it worked for editing, it can work for rewrites, too.

Also realized I’m really looking forward to spring training baseball. I almost enjoy spring training more than I do the regular season. That’s not quite true, but I *do* really love listening to spring training games. Nothing’s at stake, you know? Get to listen to a bunch of newbies playing, guys that can come up and make an impact in The Show at some point during the year. The A’s picked up a pretty solid right-handed bat yesterday, this guy from Milwaukee. Don’t think he’ll be any Yoenis Cespedes, but he does sound like a legit power threat, which changes our lineup a bit. Now, if only Billy Butler could have a decent next two years…but, I tell ya, if Jed Lowrie has a decent year, and Billy Burns proves his rookie campaign wasn’t a fluke…we have a pretty decent lineup. A lineup that can contend with anyone else in our division, anyway. The big question mark will be our starting pitching. And our new bullpen…but I’m already going out on a limb and saying the starting pitching will be more crucial. Especially ‘can they stay healthy?’

See? Not even spring training yet, and I’m already taking up blog space over it.

I had work left to do today for the Flix, and so I did that. Took me slightly longer than I thought, but not too bad. Hung with the pups, took a short snooze to keep me rested as much as possible. Got to talk to my moms. She and my dad are both a bit under the weather. Mom with a cold, and Dad with a sore back that he tweaked. Did some snap chatting with Scott and Addie, who are up in Seattle from the looks of it.

Anywho, time for the sleeps. Hope y’all have a wonderful Valentine’s Day 😉
