Hemmingway used to write and teach all the time about keeping it “simple.” That short, concise sentences were the key to profundity. I just read an article that seems to verify that, and it makes me think about my own writing.
This article I read had a great quote in it, which was “good writing speeds you along.” That is something I intend to put into practice on this next novel. Speed it along. Too much is too much. Keep it short and simple.
Today, I worked, and then we went to a birthday party out in Los Feliz at a bar with Kerry Kleiman, who’s staying with us tonight. She is such good people. I missed her.
Now it’s 1am and I have to get up at the normal time. Sad face. See you kids tomorrow.
