Well…today was a win, and it was a loss in terms of the productive side of things.
There was a lot of maintenance-type stuff that I’ve just plain not had the time for. Things like laundry, vacuuming, groceries…that kind of stuff. Some apartment stuff too. So, I got all that done.
I also finished out this pay period right on target with the narrations goal. That was nice. That extra income really makes a difference. And I’ve gotten myself into quite the rhyhtm with it so it hardly affects my days.
But…I did not get writing done. That’s Saturday and today. Saturday I knew it would be an issue. Today…was a loss. Tomorrow, three pages are gonna happen. Four, actually. Because I finished slightly short the last time I wrote…which is Friday, I suppose.
It’s also getting to the point where I really need to write out my outline. Like, for reals. The story is picking up now, and if I don’t have a plan…well, I suppose it could turn out to be a brilliant accident…but far, far more likely, it will be a lot of extra work.
Work smarter, not harder. That’s something to keep in mind. So…perhaps this week I can do my pages in the morning, and then outline in the evenings. We’ll see how that goes. I can see it working, for sure. At least outlining what I’m going to be writing for the next month or so.
I also didn’t get any editing done for Two Guys One Trek, which I was also hoping to jump on. Alas, I took a nap instead…which was actually only an hour…so that really didn’t impact me productivity much. Mostly it was just all the apartment shit, and the keeping the house in order stuff that just needed to be done, you know? The stuff that pays dividends if you spend a little time dealing with it in the here and now, and then are able to be more productive later on.
I talked to almost my whole family today on the phone! The Ho pointed that out to me as we were walking the pups to go pee tonight. Talked to my mom for a bit; she’s in Wyoming with my Grandma. They visited Custer’s last stand, which is crazy. Then I talked to my brother Seth for a while…no wait, that was first thing actually. He’d wanted to talk a couple days ago, but I was like, dude, call me on Sunday. So that was nice. He’s working hard out there. Baby is going to be a boy! And then I talked to my dad on the nighttime walkies.
Jojo got out from the house today and wandered over to the B’s. He was in their garage, apparently, sniffing around. My dad was making some barbecue, although it was veggie hot dogs he was making. Said it was very pretty. We chatted about music and work and all that kinda stuff.
Okay, the Benadryl is kicking in, yo. It’s after midnight now, and time for the sleeps.
