Just THREE more episodes for me to edit through…and Two Guys One Trek is ready to go. Almost.

There is still a final pass I have to make…one that I was hoping to have, like, four days to do, but here we are. The show launches in just over 24 hours, and if deadlines are good for anything, they’re good for making sure you finish something and then walk away from it.

The audio for TG1T certainly won’t be of professional quality. But, it will be quite a bit better than most other podcasts I listen to. For sure. Star Trek podcasts, anyway. Not that amazing shit from gimlet or NPR or any of those other…you know…PROFESSIONAL organizations. BUT…TG1T *should* be listen-able. And it should be entertaining. At least it makes ME laugh quite a bit.

I worked on the podcast today, all day. Editing in the morning before Josh came over…then we Treked for 6 hours, which is how long it always seems to take us to get through two episodes/podcasts. And then I closed the night by editing some more.

I just wondered how I would feel if nobody listens to the podcast. Whether I would spend so much time on season 2, making it sound the way I want. Being so meticulous with putting it together and making everything flows and makes sense and has some polish to it. I think the answer is yes. I think I *would* spend so much time, even if no one was listening. See…*I* would listen. I will seriously go through and listen to every single one of these episodes. At the end of the day, what I create as a creative person, whether it be writing or podcasting or DJing or whatever…I really am creating it for ME. If I can manage to be happy with something I’ve made, then I’m finally done with it. Well…I am very very close to that point with the first season of this podcast.

I’ve also decided today after some careful consideration and speaking with Josh, that I might actually not try to go to the Trek 50th anniversary convention in Vegas this year. It just might not be a priority. I was thinking about giving up on upgrading to a new iPad to go instead…and this voice keeps ringing in my head about “collect experiences! Don’t collect things!”…but at the same time, the REASON I want a new iPad is to use it for writing. This current iPad I’m clacking away on right now is starting to slow down. Noticeably. The other major attractive thing about a new iPad is the fact that I could digitally take written notes. The “pencil” for the new iPad really does work. It would make taking notes so. Freaking. Easy.

But, we’ll see if I change my mind. I reserve the right to do so. It would be quite amazing to be there. A 50th anniversary will only happen once. We’ll see.

That’s all I have in the tank for tonight. I’m pretty wiped. Something I know I keep writing, but it’s true. And I know that this podcast stuff is going to take me all freaking day tomorrow. I just know it. But…there are only three more to do the grunt work on. Then a polish, and then web stuff like setting up the feed correctly and getting the website working properly.

So, with that in mind, it’s definitely time for bed. I bid you all good night, and I shall see you tomorrow!
