Josh and I are now six episodes into season 2. We watched “The Apple” today, which is one of my least favorite episodes of the whole series because it’s just boring, and we watched “The Doomsday Machine” which is an above average that COULD have been great, but fell apart a bit in the execution of the machine itself. It’s a recurring theme, we’ve come to agree, that when the original Trek hinges on some creature or other antagonist being SCARY…they inevitably fail to deliver on that.

It’s always a pretty damn good chunk of time that Josh and I have to commit to doing Trek each week. It takes us about 3 hours per episode, without fail. A meeting in which we get through two episodes always seems to take 6 hours. Always. I’m sure there are things we could do to speed up that process…but honestly, if that’s the comfortable rhyhtm that we’ve found doing these together, I don’t think it needs to be, or should be messed with. As my good friend Cogsworth once said, “if it’s not Baroque, don’t fix it.”

I also did apartment stuff in the morning, which blessedly didn’t take all that long. There was also a family issue that I spent some time with today as well, but I’d rather not talk much about that. Doesn’t seem appropriate.

Josh asked me during one of our recording segments about this blog, and why I do it. It reminded me of how much a part of my daily life it’s become. It’s part of my routine before bed…talking about what I did, how I’m feeling, what I want, the dogs, the Ho…I really, really, really love these daily entries. I love being able to go back and read about what I was doing a year ago, or two years ago. If you like writing, it’s something I highly recommend.

Coco just snuggled in for sleepy times, which means it’s definitely time to sleep. That’s how we work in this household, when Coco says it’s time for bed, it’s time for bed.

Night y’all. Tomorrow is a work day!
