Warriors lost. It finally happened. They couldn’t squeak out another “miracle” victory, of which lets be real, were a huge part of this whole season.
Curry missed the shot. They had their chance with about a minute to go…Curry with a sliver of a window beyond the arc, the shot that he’s knocked down for two years now. The dagger. But he missed. Instead, Kyrie Irving made his a few seconds later and the Cavs held on to close it out. That 3-point shot held up, plus a free throw after the Warriors also failed to tie the game on the next possession.
Today we hung with the babes. Wolfie was crying at about 5:30 in the am, and I and Coco were able to calm him down and get him back to sleep. Then the kids were up at 7:30 and so were we. Had breakfast, played in the living room for a bit, then did some Father’s Day art, and some lunch. THEN we went outside into the triple digit weather and played with the water hose. They freaking loved that. We had permission.
Mom and Pops came home, we went to ours, and then I watched the Warriors forever tarnish their record-setting season by not claiming the title. First team to ever give up a 3-1 lead in the Finals, too.
It hurts.
Not as much as when the A’s lose…but it still hurts.
Night y’all!
Oh…and we lost Anton Yelchin today in what sounds like an incredibly tragic freak car accident. So sad…rest in peace Mr. Chekov.
