Tonight the Ho and I went to see Garrison Keillor tape his last ever A Prairie Home Companion radio show. The. Last. Ever. And we got to be there for it. Kinda blew my mind, to be honest.
See, we knew it was the last time he’d be coming through Los Angeles. We knew it was his last season as the host of the show after 40-some-odd years. We knew that part. But at least *I* didn’t know it was going to be his last show EVER.
He treated it like any other episode of A Prairie Home Companion. There was lots of singing. There were sound effects. There was a Life of a Cowboy bit, and an ad brought to you by the ketchup advisory board…it was all there.
I worked today, did my writing and started on my outline for Starstuff. Hung out with Panda.
And now I am friggin WIPED the fuck out. Wiped.
Coops was just running around with all the energy he had because we were gone for so long. He would run back and forth from the closet to the windows a couple times, and then jump on the bed and attack my arm for a minute, and then repeat the process. Pretty friggin cute.
I am falling asleep at my keyboard, guys. It’s time for bed. Gotta go brush my teeth first.
More tomorrow 😉
