…and they’re gonna get married!
It’s the eve of Ryan and Lisa’s weddins. It all goes down tomorrow.
Today was filled with last minute preparations, rehearsals, dinners…it really made both Liz and I think a lot about our own wedding eve two years ago (plus 3 days?). That was a highlight of my life, you guys. For real. I’ll never forget it. Never forget how spectacular the sunset was that evening, and how Liz and I went down to the beach from the barbecue to watch it and everyone kinda followed us down there and we all watched the sun set into the ocean.
It is SO BEAUTIFUL in Hawaii, guys. Seriously! I want to go back. We will. Maybe next year? But we will.
We watched the vlog that we took that day tonight at Ryan and Lisa’s rehearsal dinner. The memories came back in a snap. I can remember how everything looked, and sounded, and smelled…how soft the beach sand was, how bummed we were going to be if the rain didn’t clear up before the barbecue, how golden the sunset was and how warm the waves were as they washed over our feet, the sound of Matt behind us telling normal people walking down the beach to get out of the way because “those two are getting married tomorrow” and he wanted to take a photo of us. I remember it all.
And tonight, man, I know Ryan and Lisa will remember that, too. All the people at their house, how fucking amazingly delicious Tim’s jumbo shrimp was, and how nice it was outside.
So, yeah…we were all up early and got ready for the rehearsal out at the venue. I never realized how out in the middle of the mountains Calistoga is…but the venue is beautiful, and it’s going to be so friggin perfect tomorrow.
Then we came back and took care of the pups and ate some food, walked them, and then bam! It was already time for dinner! So we went over there and we were early, of course, but we finally got to see their back yard in the light of day. How weird is it that we’ve been to their house, seriously, like four or five times…but never in the day time! So we got to go up and see their garden and their bees.
Then we had the din dins, which was delish. Met a bunch of people who are close friends and family.
K. Now it’s bed time. Wedding tomorrow.
It was also Star Trek’s 50th birthday today and when I went downstairs to get ready for bed, Liz was on the couch with the Coco watching SyFy playing Star Trek IV. So we watched the end of that movie together.
Anywho…good night!
