Josh and I bid adieu today to season two of Star Trek (the original series). That means we’ve done 55 episodes of Two Guys One Trek. FIFTY-FIVE. That’s crazy to me.
I have so much work ahead of me editing all those down. Earlier in the year, I was able to get a head start on them because I didn’t need audio while working and I could just push play on episodes as we recorded them and mark here and there where stuff needed to be cut, or where stuff was particularly good. So, I’ll have to do that now that we’re finished.
Definitely gonna be a challenge. But, I’ve done it all once before from beginning to end, so I do have a blueprint from which to work. Hopefully that will give me some extra speed and things will go a bit faster…but I doubt it 😛 I’ve done it once before, so I know *exactly* how much work it’s going to be, and it’s alot.
But, it’s like I was talking about with Josh tonight: it’s all worth it. These episodes are evergreen; they’ll be (potentially) relevant as long as Star Trek is relevant…and I have a feeling that Trek will be relevant for a long, long time. So, with that in mind, it makes sense to build these episodes to LAST. Apparently it’s working, because Josh has been told that our podcast sounds “polished.” I think it does to.
Worked all day, too, before heading over to podcast in the evening with ze Josh. Work was good today. I’m getting back on track. For reals. I need tomorrow and the next day to be kick ass, and then I can re-evaluate where I am. How I’m doing. But…I think I’m doing okay. I think I’m pulling myself out of this funk.
Night, guys. I’m friggin wiped.
