Coco is next to me right now CHOWING down on a whimzy stick. Whymzies are these new teeth-cleaning chews that we got the pups. They loooooove them.

The Ho and I went out to Palm Springs today all day for an event with this stamp shop that she’s a collaborator for and kind of in the “inner” circle I suppose you could call it. She’s been an ambassador for their products now for quite a while, and the stamp shop was opening up their brand-new retail storefront. Very exciting. It looks fabulous. And holy crap, the crowd was HUGE. I was very impressed.

So, yeah, they were opening up their new storefront and giving all these people exclusive access to come and get some free swag, buy some of the stuff they had in their retail store, and pre-order a bunch of new stamp products that I don’t think had even debuted yet to the rest of the world, or at least SOME new stuff, and some exclusive discounts on other stuff. Whatever the deal was, people showed up for it. There were legit like 200 people there.

The Ho helped people pick out products, while I helped run more back-of-house stuff like making sure that baskets were handed out and people knew where to go check out and pay for stuff. It was cray. And this is totally a family-run business, started by this woman Nicole who had a knack for creating cute designs. It was really very cool.

When people say that America is the land of opportunity, it’s THAT kind of thing that they’re talking about. That’s not the America I have an issue with…not at all. In years gone by, that was the lifeblood of our economy. My problem is that’s not true anymore, and I point the finger at the incredible rise of the giant corporations, and the crazy shit they’re allowed to get away with.

Anywho…didn’t mean to make that political. Sorry šŸ˜›

So, yeah, we were out there helping with that, which I very much enjoyed. I realize that I like helping out. I really do. I’m happy to show up somewhere and pitch in, make something happen, and do it with a good positive attitude. It’s something I genuinely enjoy.

Man, it was tiring tho. I had to take a nap in the car on the way home, I was so wiped out. It was a loooooong week. And I still have work to do tomorrow. Sigh.

And that means it’s time to wrap up this blog entry. Writing happens tomorrow, thank you baby jesus. And some editing work. And maybe some football watching in the AM. Time change tomorrow! Which, believe it or not, I’m actually looking forward to because it means I’ll be starting my day an hour “earlier” than with daylight savings. See…the sun doesn’t suddenly rise at a different time of the day, just because we decided to change our clocks. So rather than still get up at 8am…which would ACTUALLY be getting me up suddenly at what used to 9am before the time change…I’ll be adjust my alarm to get me up at 7am, which will feel like the exact same time. I.e.- my body won’t have to adjust to shit whenever the time changes. AND, I’m getting an hour head start now from when the rest of the world wakes up. A win-win.

Also…HUGE NEWS…saved the best for last: Lena has gone into labor. Seth is at the hospital with her right now. The baby is coming! So exciting…will update tomorrow šŸ™‚
