Boy, did we New York it today!
We got up at 7 in the morning…just to be clear…that’s FOUR AM west coast time…and we went into the city and walked around in Chelsea. This elevated train track area has been repurposed there as a park you can walk along, called the Highline, and it is dopeness. Had a beautiful view at one point of the statue of Liberty.
Then we did breakfast with Mr. Nathan Bransford, which was super duper fun. Actually, it was more “thoughtful” than fun…we talked a lot about the election and the fallout and where our country is headed. We had a good time and the food was out of control.
Then we booked it out to Brooklyn to meet up with Seth and see the hotel that he’s opening and then get some lunch together. We walked over to the hipster-y part of town and found a nice little cafe and had food there. I had chili with a GIANT biscuit that was delicious.
THEN we came back to our air bnb and I took a brief nap and hung out with Scott and Addie and the Ho. And then we went over to Seth and Lena’s place and I met my nephew for the first time. He was SO TINY. And light. 7 pounds. Incredible. He woke up when we first arrived and looked around a bit, but then he was back to sleep for the rest of the time that we were there. Newborns are such paperweights. It’s a month or so down the line that they get so demanding. Though, this guy seemed pretty chill actually…we’ll see how it turns out.
We ate some dinner together, got to meet Lena’s mom, who seemed very sweet…then we came back to the air bnb and watched westworld and Last Week tonight. Then Scott and Addie came back from their excursion with friends, and we talked and ate some more food…
…now it’s sleep-time. It’s 1am local. Time for sleep!
