Today was the third day in New York. The last day.
We spent it pretty chill – Seth had to work, and Lena was busy doing errands and, you know, getting used to a brand new person who needs 24/7 care. So, we chilled for a while in our Air Bnb. Got breakfast together, hung out and talked, and then in the late afternoon went and got some lunch and then walked the rest of the way over to Seth and Lena’s house.
We hung out there for a couple hours, and then we headed into the city together since both of the people we were meeting for drinks/dinner were going to be in the same area. The Ho and I got to hang out with the famous Koki and Potato McTater of instagram fame. We had drinks at this bar that allowed dogs, and then when we got hungry, we ordered pizza.
I can definitely see the allure of living in Manhattan, no question. Depending on your neighborhood, you can walk to almost anything. And there are so many people out, and so many bars…it’s amazing. I wish LA had that, but they don’t really. We’re too spread out. There are definitely bars and places people go…but it’s just not the same because everything is so far away.
We actually ended up finishing the revelry at the same time Scott and Addie did, and we met up and took the train home together. Gonna miss hanging with those guys, as well as Seth and Henri and Lena. This trip was too quick, for sure…but I also know that it was important to us to not stay here for too long and overwhelm the new parents. It’s a sword that cuts both ways; nice to have people around for help, but also overwhelming to have guests at the same time.
Tomorrow, we fly back home. We’re wiped. Probably take Friday off, too…then it’s back to work. Blech.
