Poor iMac is having freezing troubles again…I wrestled with it all day. It wasn’t the same level of unresponsiveness that I dealt with last time, where the whole system literally stopped responding. No, this time it came in intervals of about every 10 minutes, would last for about 2 minutes, and then in-freeze and start working again.
I ultimately decided to just wipe the damn thing and reinstall. So, that’s what it’s working on now.
I was afraid for a minute that it was acting like this because I’d left it on while we were in New York…but now that I’m thinking about it, I actually doubt that’s the case — I remember right before we left that I had to manually shut my computer down one morning. As in, turn the power off by holding the button down on the back of the computer. That’s never a good thing. I also remember that it failed to completely upload these videos the night before we left…and I suspect it was because of these “freezing” espisodes. The internet is quite unforgiving in regard to dropped uploads.
I edited with Josh today, at least as much as I could with the computer issues. Did some work.
Man, I just need to nurse this iMac for the next week or so…then if it has issues, we can take it in to get fixed and I’ll still be working away on my new computer. Arg sent me a text today showing me the email he got that said the computer was being prepared to ship out. Hopefully that means it comes sooner than later. Can’t friggin wait.
The Ho and I watched Finding Dory tonight, which was very cute. Not nearly up to par with peak Pixar, but still quite good. Very sweet. Very cute. Very funny. You really can’t go wrong.
