It was Kristen’s birthday celebration today! I think her *actual* birthday was on Friday (?), but today was the day that we really got together and celebrated it. She wanted to spend the day at Universal Studios, and spend it at Universal we did 🙂
It was hoooooooot…which we knew going in. Liz had wisely packed sunblock for us, and I think I escaped the day without too much in the way of sun damage. Did you know that’s what ages skin? Sun damage? It’s true. Pretty much exclusively. So, if you want to look old, get a lot of sun. That’s the ticket.
We started early enough that we were able to kind of blast through Harry Potter land. Kristen got herself a wand – she chose Professor Lupin’s – and we had breakfast in the Three Broomsticks. I think that Harry Potter land is a game changer for Universal Studios. There’s honestly nothing else there that is a must-see…but with the ADDITION of Harry Potter land, it makes the rest of the park experience seem fun, like a bonus. I think they should get rid of half of the other shit they have in there and expand Harry Potter. It’s just so much more immersive and fun.
After a long, fun day with Arg and Kristen, we picked up the pups from the groomers – they look friggin fabulous! – and came home. We got Mendocino Farms on the way home because we were starving and so were the pups. We fed them, fed ourselves, and then all four of us laid down for a geeenniiiuuusss nap. I woke up and took the pups on a nighttime walk, watched the Warriors come back from being down 17 points mid-way through the 3rd quarter to beat the Blazers in game 3, and now here we are. Ready for bed.
More shenanigans tomorrow!
