Da Ho was birthed on this day, and the world rejoices. Or at least *I* rejoices.
It was a different kind of birthday in the sense that we weren’t able to spend the day together until late afternoon because she was working. Working hard on her show, making people laugh, being a boss.
BUT…we *did* get to hang out later, after work, huzzah. Spent a couple hours chilling with her cast-mates near the studio – that was really fun. They’re legitimately a great group of people, and they’re very fun to hang out with. I wonder if it’s just because I’ve hung out with so many actors now at this point in my life, but I certainly feel at ease with them. There’s a common language, at the very least, and I really enjoy that. It’s a natural camaraderie, I guess…at least after decades of being immersed in that group of artists.
Then I took the Ho on an adventure through old town Burbank looking at some vintage dresses that she’s been eyeing online. Alas, we struck out in that regard, but then we scurried ourselves home to feed and walk the pups together…and then we went out and got dinner. She wanted poke. I was tooottalllyyyy down with that. And then we came home and crashed. Long days.
For the first half of the day by myself, I worked on TG1T. I feel very disconnected and out of my element with my work at the moment…it’s felt like that since Friday of last week, I think…but I motor forward, you guys. I have to. I have to, HAVE TO get this podcast done. It’s a weight pressing down on my shoulders, and I want it gone. Done. Finito.
So, we soldier on.
Got my voice recorder for dictation today. Very excited, nervous, and overwhelmed at the prospect of learning an entirely new way to write…but determined, mostly. You can’t argue with doubling the efficiency of your output, you know? And that’s what it seems like one can do if they dictate their writing instead of typing it, even if you’re a super fast typer, which I am not.
Anyway…time to open some cards with my wife. It’s her birthday after all.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEAR, I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!
