‘Twas Father’s Day today. I got to talk to my dad for a bit in the morning – he was heading up to see Scott, actually, which was awesome to hear. Hope he had a good time up there. Mom is working 😛 I love my dad. He’s honestly one of the best, if not THE best man I’ve ever known. He was always kind, encouraging, good at listening, affectionate, articulate…all the things that make for a happy childhood and a wonderful father. I love you dad. I’m so, so lucky to have you as my dad.
I only wrote 400 words today…but I did write. I put my but in the chair, and I wrote them. I think this makes a full week of writing every day. It’s the first full week I’ve had in a couple months, and that feels really really good.
Julianne, the Ho, Thom and I all went out to have Taiwanese dumplings this morning at Din Tai Fung. Oh my Lordy, do I love the soup dumplings at Din Tai Fung. They’re an obsession of mine. Julianne’s had soup dumplings before, but not Din Tai Fung. They are LEGENDARY. Seriously. Even Tony Bourdain went to Din Tai Fung in Taipei when he went there.
I watched some of Spectre tonight, which was the last Bond film. I know it got panned when it was released, which is why I didn’t go see it – but now it’s free on Amazon Prime for free! 🙂 So, that’s a win. I’ve…liked it so far? There’s been some fun stuff for sure. Nothing as compelling as they did with Casino Royale, for sure, but some really pretty framing, some badass costuming, and that kind of stuff. The action, to be honest, has been tired and dull…but it’s still all good fun. I love the mysteries of the Bond movies more than the action. Always have.
Didn’t get any reading done today, alas…but I’ll finish my current book in the next three days. Then onto the next one. Probably the next book in the Wool series, actually. I’m enjoying it enough thus far to make it the first self-pubbed book series I’m actually interested in reading more of. We’ll see.
Time for the sleeps. The Ho is reading through her LAST script of Disjointed right now…which is craaaaazzzyyyyy. Hopefully not last script ever, but you never know in Hollywood, man. Anything can happen.
Night!
