Tonight, Disjointed wrapped in its 20th episode.

I was just talking with the Ho in the bathroom as we were brushing our teeths together, and we were talking about the moment tonight when the last shot played, and how it really sank in that they’d just made a series. 20 episodes. Finished.

This is something that my wife has been working towards for a long, long time. She’s finally done it. She’s been, now, to the top of that mountain. I cannot express how proud I am of her, and how grateful I am that this show has been such a positive experience. I will never forget these past eight months, and going to see them tape their shows; laughing, applauding, marveling at how everything is done and put together, running lines with her, hanging out with the cast and the crew…it’s been the best of times.

It was awesome, too, to have Liz’s dad here tonight. Three tapings in a row, now, that we’ve had family in town to attend. That has been absolutely wonderful to get to share this experience. Well, I mean, share Liz’s experience with her and our family. It’s been my pleasure to support and cheer on that experience.

This cast and crew has become a very tight-knit group of people. They call it “fam” and it really has been a family. For reals. Not all shows are like this. I can see that from the outside, and Liz confirms it from the inside; this has been a special show. They threw a wrap party at this old restaurant across from the lot, Smoke House, and it was so awesome. They put together a blooper real with cursing, and dancing, and all the other silliness. It was wonderful. Oh! And it’s Kathy’s birthday next week, and so they surprised her with a cake and got the whole cast, crew, and audience to sing happy birthday to her. It was rather magical.

I’ll never forget this time. I really won’t. It’s been a very, very happy time. Very happy indeed.

That’s all for tonight.

I wrote today, too! Can’t remember my exact word count, but it was over 1,000, which was a win because I had so much apartment stuff to handle and then Liz’s dad was here. And THEN it was time to head over to the studio for the taping. So…yeah. Very happy about that.

Night!
