I wrote no words today except those in my head. A nice little scene between Suzy and Barry came to mind…
Instead, I did Netflix work and I did an editing pass on what will be the final manuscript for Starstuff. Even after four passes with editors, there were still issues, particularly with Balta’s gender, which I switched pretty late in the game. So, I did a pronoun search; “he” “him” “his” “man” and “male.”
It’s crazy doing a search for those words in a manuscript because they are used SO OFTEN. It makes the whole thing look so repetitive 😛 But, I did it, and I caught SEVERAL instances that were still not agreeing. Amazon has also done a refreshed typo search, and I’m going to take care of those in the morning, and then re-export, and upload. Deadline is actually Friday, but I’m going to have that shit done a day in advance 🙂
And then…the book itself is all set for publication day on Tuesday the 17th. CRAZYYYYY. I’m probably not going to work that day 😛
My reviewers have really come through, man. If any of you are reading this right now, THANK YOU. I’m going to have more than 10 reviews up for launch day. Putting the paperback out early was the right decision for sure, letting my ARC team leave a review before the eBook drops. I also paid for all my promo services. Tomorrow I think I might post in the 20Books forum asking if anyone is interested in doing some newsletter swaps to fill in some of these dates in the second week that I don’t have anything set up yet.
I also have SO MUCH READING TO DO. Good lord. So much to do. Sigh. But, I’ll get it done. I swear.
I’m flat-out exhausted…but I had a great day. I got so much done. I took breaks and ate food when I needed to. I never lost my resolve to finish. It was grand. I want to keep it up.
