I need to improve at compartmentalizing.
Dominoes fall during my day, and I’m not always that good at keeping them from setting off a cascade of derailment. That is a skill. I *can* be better at it. It’s just going to take some work.
My parent’s dog, Jojo, is very sick right now. They believe he suffered an injury yesterday when he was trying to jump up into the car, and hit his neck and his back. It’s serious enough that he has to go down and see a Neurologist tomorrow morning in Santa Rosa…and he may need emergency surgery. I sincerely hope it doesn’t come to that. I’m not sure it’s an affordable option.
So, keep that little guy in your thoughts tonight, and let’s hope that he medications he’s taking right now actually work and his neck/back improves. He saw the doc up in Ferndale in the morning, and then proceeded to get worse as the day went on, which is not good.
Today was also a momentous day for my writing career: my first novel launched today. I was glued to my sales as much as I could 😛 It did well. It looks like I’m going to have had around 2,000 pages read in Kindle Unlimited (which is nothing…that’s about $6) and just shy of 40 sales (which is actually quite respectable). HOPEFULLY those numbers grow over the next two weeks, and this book shows that it has some staying power.
That “staying power” is also why I’m burying the lead in this post tonight 😛 I need to keep the data pure for Amazon on the types of readers who will enjoy this book, and in order to do that, I need to try and keep as many of my friends and family from purchasing it as possible. Counter-intuitive, I know! But, this is a tried-and-true method for indie selling on Amazon. In just under two weeks…I can announce it to all my closest peeps so they can get in on it too…but for now, it’s a secret 😛
I also podcasted with Josh tonight. We’re entering into the last third of the Animated Series, which has kind of flown by.
Then…it’s onto the MOVIES. Aaaahhhhh. Can’t wait.
Night, guys. Worried about Jojo. Excited and nervous about my book. Intense day, to say the least.
