Gah! Has to be another quick entry tonight because it’s so late, but today was the first day of the 20Books to 50k Vegas conference, and oh what a day it was indeed
I met more authors today than I have in my entire life to this point. That was worth the price of admission to me right there. I’m so glad I volunteered to help, and I got placed in exactly the right job, helping to run the audio visual equipment. I have experience in that regard, and it enabled me to meet some of these people that I really look up to.
The real magic, however, is the after hours gatherings at the bar in the center of the hotel. THAT is where the magic happens…and I met a tooooon of people tonight and traded stories and ideas and business cards. I loved it.
The indie community right now is so willing to share and be kind and generous with each other, and that is…well, magical. Looking forward to day two.
