In bed right now a little late. I’ve been doing that lately…going to bed a half hour or hour later than my scheduled bed time…and it’s probably because this time change means that I try to go to bed at the same “time” of day as I used to; ie- 11:30 bed time becomes 10:30. But, man…that’s hard. There is still so much stuff happening at 10:30.
Right now, it’s 11. I’m going to snuggle in here and try to sleep as quickly as possible. I have a SHIT TON of stuff to do this last week before christmas…good lord. So much to do. Mainly: finish the accounting for the year, and finish the notes and rewrite plan for Escape From Red Tower and START that rewrite. I want to be DEEP in that rewrite this time next week as we prepare to leave town.
I can do it.
I will do it.
Today, I got work done! Not nearly as much as I wanted to, but I did. The day was pretty neatly broken in two with the Disjointed softball game. We won! It’s onto the championship game! Gonna see if we can get as much of the cast to come watch as possible and cheer them on. I, again, won’t be playing, but I will be coaching third base. Austin, our coach, got me pot socks to match everyone else’s. So sweet of him. I’ve really enjoyed going to the games, even when I wasn’t able to play.
But, yeah, they won today! And against a team in Brooklyn 99 who…I think was probably better than we were. They had more hitting power up and down their line-up for sure…but man, we managed to squeak juuuuust enough hits on the ground or just over their heads to score more runs than they did. It was 9-4 final…and they only scored those 4 runs in one inning. Austin is our secret weapon – he pitches so, so high in the air, it’s almost impossible to hit. And he lands it on the plate just often enough to make sure that people don’t just sit there and take walks; they swing. We’ll see how well we play in the championship game. It was an exciting game today! Brooklyn 99 was definitely competitive. They clearly wanted to win.
The I came home and ate food, went grocery shopping to make sure I was stocked for the long week of work, took care of the pups, and then sat down and did some reading of the manuscript. Oh, and then I did some financial work, too. That’s what I’m starting with tomorrow morning: finishing the work in Quicken to categorize all of our expenses. That’s due to our accountant this week so we can file our final “payroll” for the year. The upside: the amounts for our taxes should basically be completed for tax season next year, which is DOPE. There will still be some personal stuff we’ll have to break out and categorize, but the business stuff will all be done. Whew!
Anywho, that’s what I have for you tonight. Ended the evening playing some Skyrim and eating dinner. Liz sat and watched with me for a little while. I love playing the game with her there. I make commentary as I go that makes her laugh, and I like that. It’s a lot more fun that way.
Good night, y’all. Here’s to a long, good week of work!
