The puppers tonight are enchanting me. Cooper is curled up like a cinnamon bun, or a wooly bear caterpillar, and coco is laying straight and hunched up like a cat, or a loaf of bread.
I wrote today. Well, tonight, actually. It was a little scene, maybe 500 words…but it was magical. It had LIFE. It was a moment between two characters that was real to me, and man…that’s what’s been missing thus far in the book. So, that was energizing.
I’ve decided to try writing at night instead of in the mornings. That’s how I wrote 90% of Starstuff, and while it really was awesome to have my words/pages finished before lunchtime…I’m just not sure that’s my natural writing time. I was fighting myself so often, it seemed, writing in the morning; tiredness, hunger, distractions…but at night, I seem to naturally perk up in the imagination, and I’m going to try nurturing that. We’ll see how it goes.
I emailed my readers today, letting them know Escape has been delayed a bit as I re-evaluate it and decide how to get it where I want it to go. I was a bit nervous about sending it…but I did it, and I have a whole bunch of them willing to read what I send them over the next few weeks. That was AMAZING. So, yeah…I have readers, guys. Actual readers!
I had a good day today. I really did. I feel better. I’m almost back to 100%. I feel ready to get some shit done, for reals.
Time for the sleeps. I’ll see you kids again tomorrow…hopefully with more good news. I’m gonna play some golf, I think 🙂
