Y’all…I might as well be in another country right now. I’m not, I’m in Rancho Palos Verdes, which is on the tip of this…peninsula (?) in the southern part of LA County but it is NOT LA. It’s like…San Diego, or Santa Barbara, or even a little bit of Hawaii, but not Los Angeles. It’s out by itself on this tip, right on the ocean, and there’s a mountain/hill behind us that separates the area from the rest of LA. You can’t even SEE it…and it’s like another planet.

It’s so pretty here. Oh! And apparently where we’re staying used to be a seaworld-type amusement park called MarineLand! It closed in 1987, and they built this resort on top of it after the park had been closed for a good 20 years. In fact, the star orca from this park, Corky, was sold to SeaWorld…and renamed SHAMU. Yes, *the* Shamu. Crraazzzyyyy, right?

So, we’re down here because Liz is shooting her new pilot. It takes place at a resort, so it’s appropriate that we’re down here shooting 😛

I woke up, took care of the pups and then did my morning pre-writing, sketching out stuff, had some lunch, and then we drove down. Drive was long, but uneventful. Pups were in tow. Arrived here in time to feed them, visit set, and then go grab some dinner. We had sushi, which was decent, but not great. The actual fish and rice were EXCELLENT…but on two of the house dishes that we got, it came drizzled with a cream sauce that neither of us were fans of.

The we took a walk with the pups along the cliff face above the ocean, sat for a while down by another one of the resort’s restaurants, and then came back to the room to chill out. I played a little Zelda, Liz took a bath, we were feeling a bit peckish, so we ordered a little room service (omg…this fruit tart we had…shortbread crust lined with CHOCOLATE whaaaaat), and now we’re bushwhacked and ready for bed. Liz is up early to shoot, and I’ll be taking care of the pups. Hoping she gets out early enough to come back home with me…but we’ll see.

It’s an adventure, and it’s so much fun.

Night! 🙂
