Baseball is upon us, ladies and gents.
I got to sit down today and watch opening day with Joe. It was awesome. We had to watch the stupid Angels’ feed, because they’re the local team, and the A’s broadcast is subject to blackout when that’s the case…but still…it was awesome. We won, basically, on the strength of back-to-back homers from Khris Davis and Matt Olson. Those two…monsters. Terrible pitching from our starter Kendall Graveman, but excellent pitching from our bullpen, and that was all we needed.
I got my writing done today. Finished a really tough scene. Going to be able to use a couple scenes I’ve already written for tomorrow before I send off to my beta readers. It feels great to be producing, and I have been producing. Took me a couple days into this week, but I’ve finally found it the past couple days.
Then, Josh and I podcasted. We watched Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, which is the least of the movies we’ve seen thus far; the movie franchise’s first REAL misstep. Josh actually said it was “refreshing” to see them turn in a mediocre movie. They’d been on such an impossible streak to that point, it was unsustainable. He was ready for them to have a sub-par outing. I found that fascinating. I’ve always kind of felt the same way. There are so many EXCELLENT movies in the franchise (well, at least two), that Trek V kinda being garbage didn’t ever faze me in the slightest. It didn’t matter. I had the great ones to fall back on.
That’s all I have tonight. It’s well past midnight, and well into my sleepy time. Coco agrees. So does Coops.
Night.
