We had a sunset today! A real Maui sunset!
It’s been so cloudy the whole time we’ve been here, we haven’t had the signature Hawaii blow-your-mind sunsets…UNTIL TODAY. As evidenced by the amazing photo for today. Holy crap.
So, that was taken at Merriman’s, which is a fancy restaurant up on the far north-western part of the island. It’s right on the water, obviously, and has a really cool view of the next islands over, which are Lanai and Molokai. It made for just a stuuuuning sunset. Dinner was delish, too 😛
We spent the whole day before that on the beach and at the pool. Mostly at the beach, actually. It was sunny for the whole late morning and afternoon, and that made it warm enough out there to swim for hours and not get cold. The water has been fine the whole time we’re here, obvs, but getting out, it was cloudy and a bit windy, and that really made it chilly. But not today.
So…yeah…today was basically the most beautiful day it’s been since we got here. Twas magical.
Got my writing done – only 350 words, but that was because I did a lot of rewriting of this scene, punching stuff up, giving it a specific direction I wanted it to go in. I wrote 25,000 words this month of April. It’s the most I’ve written for this whole book process. It’s not nearly as much as some…but it’s an upward trend, guys, and that’s what matters. Just need to keep plodding away.
I have a feeling May is going to blow it out of the water.
