I’d never been snorkeling before today. It was SO FUN.

It took me a minute to figure out how to do it, how to breathe through the tube with me mouth nice and slow, that when water gets in, there’s a guard or something that kind of keeps it from going into your mouth/lungs if you inhale, so that you can take a deep breath and then just blow the water out…how to make sure the seal around the nose is nice and tight so water doesn’t get in there, and then how to just kind of put your head down and float. Breathe nice and easy, and just float. Look around with this new window to life below the waves.

And the water was SO CLEAR. And the reefs were so pretty! Definitely struggling – you can see the large sections where its just sand now, and there weren’t a ton of fish…but it was still so pretty.

I got to see sea turtles, too! Three of them today. Two on the snorkeling trip, and then one whilst I was hanging out on the beach, listening to the basketball game, and waiting for Liz to get her nails did.

It was a really, really awesome day, and I am EXHAUSTED from all that swimming. That’s old out-of-shape Ira coming to the fore, and I didn’t get a nap in today either 😛 A baby 10-minute one down by the pool after we came back to the hotel, but not a real nap. I’m such an old man!

Writing was great today, too. 900 words. Spent a little extra time than the 30 minutes to finish this scene I was working on.

Anywho, I’m going to bed. Good night!
