If I have one bit of wisdom to impart in terms of going on a vacation…it’s have puppers waiting for you at home. As much as it was breaking our hearts to leave Maui today–and holy bejesus was it–we were equally excited to be home and see Cooper and Coco.

Other dog parents out there, you get this. They are family, pure and simple. Being away from them is hard. We miss them.

Coco has been on my lap since she settled down. Coops has been so snuggly, too , it’s insane, and now we’re all cuddled up in bed, ready to go to sleep and be a normal pack together again.

We woke up this morning with the sound of the ocean and the speakers playing Hawaiian music down by the pool. Why we didn’t keep our door open with the sheer curtain down the entire time we stayed there, I don’t know. It kept the bugs out, and let the amazing Maui air in along with the sound of the ocean. It was magical.

I guess “magical” is the term of this particular trip to Maui. I keep using it over and over again.

We ate our last buffet breakfast, and I still found new foods to try. My *favorite* new food, discovered on Maui, are the apple Bananas. Their full name, according to Wikipedia, is Dwarf Apple Bananas…and they’re amaaaaazing. Apparently there are also these little bananas called Ice Cream Bananas (or, Blue Agave Bananas more technically speaking), but we couldn’t find those. Those are also apparently delicious.

Then, we took one last stroll down the beach and talked about our favorite memories and our next trip we’ll take out to Hawaii, which will probably be around New Years. That’s the current idea, at least. To the BIG island 🙂

I do really want to travel to the rest of the islands and check them out. I have a feeling for whatever reason that Maui will always be my favorite…but you never know. Hawai’i, Oahu, Kauai, and Lanai, we’re coming for you!

Then we packed up, checked out, drove to the airport, dropped off our car, and went through security. Our car had to be returned decently earlier than our flight, so we went to a cafe inside the terminal and ate some food. That timed out perfectly and we finished right as it was time to board our flight home.

Flight was uneventful. Liz edited video and read a good new book, I got my writing done (505 words!), read, and played a smidge of Mario Kart. So close to those three stars! So close.

Then we landed, got our Lyft home, and Arg and Kristen came over to drop off the pups, which was so incredibly nice of them. We were going to drive over and get them, but they insisted on coming here. Ugh. Love you guys! Thanks for taking such amazing care of the pups while we were gone.

Long day. Very tired, though not as tired as I should be 😛 It’s 2am here…but it feels like it’s 11, and time to just start getting ready for bed. Jet lag. Ugh.

Night! 🙂 What a “magical” trip 🙂
