Today was about Baseball, Brunch, and Basketball! Aka, the perfect Sunday 🙂
I don’t know exactly why, but I love morning baseball. Whenever the A’s take a trip east and they play a weekend series, I get at least a couple morning baseball games. It’s awesome. I get to listen on the walk with the pups, and then I get to watch it whilst I eat breakfast. It’s always such a nice way to kick off my day.
The A’s won today in DOMINANT fashion. Holy crap. We destroyed the Blue Jays. We kinda destroyed them this entire 4-game series, handing them their first 4-game sweep at home in like 15 years, or something crazy like that.
We’re 3 games over .500, and our starting pitching is falling apart. We went 7-3 on a tour through the top 3 (at the time) teams in the AL East. Wow. Was. Not. Expecting. That. Really, the only teams that give us trouble are in our own division, which is shame, since we play them so much. We’re better, or at least as-good-as any team in the other two divisions. Which is CRAZY…
…because we have no pitching. We lost two starters on this road trip, and those two starters were shaky, at best! And we have no one to replace them that’s much better. Sure, Graveman could turn a corner…but he might not! And Gossett, who’s the other replacement coming up is NOT a major league starter. He’s just not. He gets hammered. Consistently.
Ugh.
If only we had a couple other solid starters…
THEN…
We had “brunch”–using that term loosely since it was 1pm in the afternoon–with Joe and Madhuri, and they asked Liz and I to be part of the wedding party! EEEeeeeeee. I’m so excited for the two of them. They’re honestly two of the best people we know. Love them. Adore them. So happy for them!
Thank you for asking us, you two! I can’t wait to be a part of the celebration 🙂
and THEN…
It was time to watch the Warriors put a *smack* *down* on the Rockets. Holy balls, did they school that team. It was the first game at home of the series, and it wasn’t even close. Wasn’t. Even. Close. They won by 41 points. They were playing like crap in the first quarter, and they had a 9-point lead. Curry was dope. The Dubs defense was dope.
It was a great game.
Beyond that, I hung out with the pups, had an EXCELLENT writing session wherein three of my main characters meet each other for the first time…and the Ho and I watched Westworld.
What a day.
I’m pooped.
Night 😉
