Omg. The photo for tonight is PERFECT. We went to Powell’s book store today, which is apparently the largest book store in the country (?), and it’s so cool. I’ve written about it before. Three floors of an entire city block, books, new, old, amazingness…

…and apparently trophies. Because, why not? And there was a trophy called “Have you read my blog?” And I love it πŸ™‚

Today was a day of WALKING. We walked like 10 miles today, which I suppose isn’t that crazy, but it was enough to be leg-tired.

We walked up to the Rose Test Garden, which is where this society creates new roses. It was awesomely beautiful. Like, more roses than I’ve ever seen in more varieties…it was just gorgeous.

Then, we had lunch at this city block in downtown that’s all food trucks. I had some Iraqi shawarma. It was DELICIOUS. Then we went to Powell’s. I didn’t get the trophy, but I did get a T-shirt! Hooray for Ira getting new shirts πŸ˜› It was time to get the wardrobe worked over. So, I’m now always on the hunt for shirts that have some color, and are printed with cool things. And Powell’s is cool.

We came home to our room after that and took a heaaavvyyyy nap for a good hour. I wrote for a while after that while Liz took Coco for a nighttime walk, and then we went to dinner at the restaurant on the roof of our hotel. CRAZY good view. Gorgeous. And the food was actually excellent. Really, really good.

Dessert was down in the lobby of the hotel (which is actually on the 8th floor, which is cray), and that was delicious. I got the wrong size of my shirt by accident, so we went back to Powell’s really quick, which was only five blocks away or so, and now we’re back, in bed, and hoping we get a better night’s sleep than we did last night. For whatever reason last night, we had trouble sleeping. I did, too, which is odd. Just travel fatigue, I think.

That was our day in Portland as tourists. Super nice. I like this town πŸ™‚

Night!
