I feel remarkably gassed for having had a day off. That worries me a bit, considering I have two full-on writing days ahead of me to cap off the best writing week I’ve ever had…but I won’t be deterred.
If I’m tired tomorrow, so be it. I can keep going.
I’m reading The Left Hand of Darkness right now and really enjoying it. Le Guin’s writing is super fun and pretty easy to read, except for some stretches where she really packs in the big thesaurus words. They’re always apt, those fancy words, but there was one particular passage tonight where they were clustered together like a thicket and I had to hack my way through.
I’m not sure exactly what I expected of the move, because I really knew almost nothing about it, except that it played with gender and genderlessness…but I’m enjoying it. The world is vivid. The character is interesting. And I’m curious to see where Le Guin is headed with it. I have no idea.
I did a bunch of errands today, watched the A’s crush the spirit of the Rangers yet again with a last-minute comeback win, and spent time with the Ho, the pups, and my pillow.
Speaking of…
It’s time for bed. Good night.
