I’m back, bitches. BACK, I SAY!

I wrote 4,000 words today. Like a boss is wont to do. They were pretty good words, too. I’m figuring out this troublesome section, having characters actually taking actions and asking questions that make sense. It’s a relief. I was worried, to be honest, after taking last week to brainstorm my way through taking a wrong turn in the story cave.

I needn’t have been.

I can do this. And on a regular basis, too. Whew!

I also got my two mailing list emails composed and scheduled for tomorrow morning, picked up my tennis rackets which got not only the new grips that I paid for, but ALSO new strings, because they put those on by accident 😂

And I got to sit down and watch the A’s beat the Mariners by the skiiinnn of their freaking teeth, man. Though, honestly, it shouldn’t have even been close. We were up 7-2 in the 8th with two outs. Some shaky bullpen innings made it 7-6, but we closed the door.

Bob Melvin has been doing this thing where he pulls out our starters waaaayyyy to fucking early, and we’ve been using our plus relievers almost every freaking night. I HATE IT. Take a starter out when they’re not doing well, sure. But leave them in where they’re doing fine. And Manaea was doing FINE tonight. He got yanked at only 80 pitches! With two outs in the 8th inning! WTF?

With as much as we lean on our relievers anyway, why lean on them MORE?

If anything takes us down as we enter the home stretch towards the playoffs, or even IN the playoffs, it will be arm fatigue for our relievers. Book it. Don’t like it.

It was a badass day today.

Whew.

It’s exactly what I needed. Night!

Artwork tonight is from Max Dunbar. Sooo cooool 🙂
